Google Business Group and P@sha's "Women on Web"- Introductory Session at IoBM

Google Business Group and P@SHA have joined hands to start a collaborative initiative called "Women on Web" (WoW) in Pakistan. To promote this program they have been visiting universities etc and have been creating awareness among women. Their focus seems more on female youth as they are more open to learning technology as opposed to women who have aged.

This introduction was given to us at the Entrepreneurship and Management Excelence Centre (EMEC), IoBM on March 13, 2014 by Jehan Ara of P@SHA accompanied by Google Business Group representatives.

In this program there will be workshops that will help women who already have businesses in taking their business to the next level and women who aspire to be entrepreneurs to find creative, feasible and unique ways of entering the market.

WoW will also have training and mentoring program in which they aim to create a mutually beneficial relationship between the mentor and the mentee. I am a mentee at the Cherie Blair Foundation and would love to have a mentoring relationship that isn't just virtual.

There is an increasing number of empty nesters who are entrepreneurs or are becoming entrepreneurs, if they are technologically challenged or even impatient, then they can benefit from students who enter this program or event from a mentee if they are in a mentoring relationship.

The idea behind this initiative is to help women realise the power of technology and to help them in understanding and learning how they can use it for their benefit thus increasing employment and entrepreneurship at the same.

In this world and age where we all have global outreach, in order to be successful we must be ready to go global and having an online presence will help us in achieving that goal.

I am totally geared up for this program! What about you?
