The Fault in Our Stars movie trailer

I read the book 'The Fault in our Stars' on recommendation of a friend (Thank you soooo much Hira!), regardless to say once I started reading I couldn't put it down. Even though they were cancer patients and from the looks of it the book wasn't going to have a fairy tale ending where both would be cured and would live happily ever after- yet the book held me captive because the play of dialogues, the wit and the tragedy was consuming.

Maybelline New York launches BABY LIPS Lip Balm in Pakistan

Maybelline Baby Lips hits stores in Karachi. A Winter Bloggers’ Meet-up to celebrate the launch of Baby Lips Lip Balm took place at The Pink Cadillac Café in Karachi. The event began with welcome notes by Maybelline’s brand manager Wafa Kalia and Marketing Director L’Oréal Pakistan Zainab Pasha (Zainab is also a donor of LADIESFUND’s Educate a Girl Vocational Scholarships). This was followed by three winter looks as shown in the pictures below- created by Maybelline’s make-up artist Raana Khan.

Bichhauna Exhibition

Bichhuanã is a collaborative non-profit effort undertaking to help women of the rural Sindh, to a sustainable entrepreneurial pursuit. It started as an effort to help the families from Sindh that were affected by the flood in 2010. Women housed at refugee camps were encourages to utilise their time in making Rallis-traditional patchwork quilts and were compensated for their investment of time. As they returned 'home' to nothing from the camps, they were given a platform to work for and an opportunity to earn a living and build their lives all over again.

Resolutions for 2014

It is that time of the year when I most often for naught scribble resolutions for the year, yet over the years I have kept the tradition alive. I always limit my resolutions to ten but they have mostly been too general. My resolutions are my dreams and accomplishing them makes me feel like my dreams came true; in 2013 I managed to accomplish 5 out of 10 (a feat considering my past record). Hence to make it work this time, my first resolution is what will ensure that I achieve my goals. So let's cut to the chase and start with my resolutions for 2014!

1. Baby Steps:

In order to ensure that this time my resolutions work, I will start by making short term goals (monthly resolutions with weekly objectives) so that I am able to work on my resolutions instead of coming back to them after a year only to realise 'Ooops! Didn't work hard enough.'
